There’s no denying that the view from the huge figure of Jesus Christ with his arms open wide over Rio de Janeiro is hard to beat. However, it is also expensive and hard to get to a good spot because of all the tourists.
But that’s not the case with the Catholic statue Sanctuary of Christ the King. It was based on Christ the Redeemer and is located in Almada. The huge statue of the same person in the same pose looks out over Lisbon, Portugal’s main city Instead of the Colosseum in Rome, they built the Roman Amphitheater in Chester, UK, and the Arena in Pula, Croatia.
In the case of the Colosseum, you get two dupe options instead of just one. The Italian icon is the biggest amphitheater ever built, which is why it gets some of the biggest crowds you’ll ever see. The famous Petra in Jordan is known for its beautiful colors and the fact that it was partly carved out of rock in a remote valley. The limestone building dates back to the 3rd century BC, so it’s also been around for a very long time.
But you could go to Spain for an adventure that is just as beautiful. The Cenobio de Valerón on the island of Gran Canaria in Spain is thought to be a good copy of Petra, even though it doesn’t have the same style of architecture. In the same way that Petra is, it is an archaeological site with a network of caves cut into the rock. It was built by the Romans and was used until the end of the 1400s.

The Royal Pavilion, Brighton, UK instead of the Taj Mahal, India
We can all say that the Taj Mahal is one of the most amazing man-made sights in the world. It is made of white marble and sits on 42 acres of land. However, it can be hard to get to the Indian city of Agra, where the landmark is located, and it costs a lot.
Instead, Brighton’s Royal Pavilion in the UK is easy to get to. The Royal Pavilion was built in 1787 as a beach vacation home for King George VI. In 1850, it was sold to the city of Brighton. It is now a secret gem for architecture fans who want to be amazed by some beautiful buildings.

People from all over the world want to visit the Incan site near Cuzco, Peru. Because of this, it often has problems with too many tourists, and Peru has even had to limit entry to the site.
Glanum doesn’t need to deal with this issue. Glanum is an archaeological site that was once a rich city. It is in Provence, France, between the Alpilles mountains. People can now look at its ruins in the middle of nature and then go right to the nearby town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.

The Great Wall of China, which is 13,170 miles long, is still the world’s biggest building project. Even though Hadrian’s Wall in Cumbria, UK, isn’t as good as that one, it’s still a great option if you want to experience the same vibes but save money on travel. This wall goes from Wallsend on the Tyne to Bowness-on-Solway and is 73 miles long. It is still a magnificent sight to see.
